We believe in a holistic worship of God. Therefore, financial giving and offerings are just one way in which believers can express worship. Moreover, the financial support received is not just an act of worship, but also an expression of love to body of Christ. Many ministries depend on the generous financial support of fellow believers including our very own church. That’s right, it is because of the loving financial support that CCW can meet every week in a physical location. And it is this support which allows our church to reach into the world and bring others to Christ.
That being said, giving and offering is from the heart, not from guilty obligation. We here at CCW understand that there has been a culture of “prosperity gospel” known for exploiting, swindling, and manipulating others to give out of pressure from guilt. Yet the scripture clearly teaches:
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Therefore, we here at CCW will never want you to feel pressured to give. But to give from the love of your generous heart, in supporting our local body. We never want you to go into debt, or rack up credit card bills just to support us. Give as you can by the Holy Spirit.
